Rotary Club of Pakenham Inc Go Country Completed Our latest project in a joint effort with the Rotary Club of Koo-wee-rup/ Lang Lang. A great success and we thank each and everyone for supporting us.

For the second time the Shire has relocated us to a new location which is smaller in area in what we enjoyed.

Saturday, April 5 2008 Pakenham Racing Club BENEFICIARIES: CHILDREN IN DISTRESS
You
were
invited to join us at the above function.
We are raising funds for four causes involving children.
They are (locally) Windermere at Pakenham – which assists dysfunctional
families and children at risk, (statewide) Very Special Kids – which assists
children with life-threatening illnesses and their parents, (internationally)
ROMAC – a Rotary program that brings children to Australia for life saving
and/or dignity restoring surgery not available in their own country, and
(internationally) Interplast – a Rotary program which, combined with the College
of Surgeons, sends a team of surgeons and nurses to developing countries to
conduct operations on children there and to teach new surgical techniques to the
local surgeons. We feel sure that you
will agree with the worthiness of our causes. The auction will offer all manner of goods and services for sale, some of high value, many not. The children were most grateful for your involvement and support.
Charter of Casey Cardinia Rotaract Club
26th March 2006 The Charter Night of the Casey Cardinia Rotaract Club went off very well with over 110 in attendance.
DG Ray Stewart presented the Charter and P.P. Darren Spargo presented the Collar of office in President Barry's absence.
President Tim Moore of the
RC of Berwick presented the new club with the original Berwick Rotaract club of
1971's Gong. PP Jan Veenstra our Charter member hand made a wooden “Donger” and presented it to the Club. President of the RC of Moe presented each Rotaractor with a gift of a commemorative Rotaract glass.
Each new member was then
presented with their Rotaract membership badge.
Guest speaker for the night was Herald/Sun cartoonist Mark Knight.
A very successful auction was held helping the clubs fundraising efforts off to a great start. The auction making a profit of over $3000.

Rose Garden Pakenham Cemetery
Our100 Years of Rotary Rose Garden. Now operational this quite corner of the Cemetery is used by family and friends to pray and ponder. 2004 Books for PNG The Interact Club with the help of the Pakenham Club sent a 20 ft container of school books to PNG through the Rotary Club of Huon Gulf in December 2004 and were most enthusiastically received.

The Interact Club of Pakenham Secondary College was chartered on Monday 17th November 2003, by the Rotary Club of Pakenham at the Pakenham Golf Club with over 60 guests attending. President Jim Armstrong welcomed Rotarians, partners, parents and students to the evening. Sergeant at Arms Graeme Begg and his assistant Tim Myers extracted fines from most members and raised $54. This will be given to the Interact Club to put towards any project that they decide on. Secretary Ken Rook informed the gathering "What is Rotary" and Rotarian Ian Wake spoke on Interact-A Service Club for Young People." President Jim thanked Rotarians Ian Wake and Gary Board for their efforts in getting the Interact Club up and running. The induction of President Allie Wright along with Ruth Chapman-Vice President, Katherine Chandler- Secretary, Tim Myers - Treasurer, Chantelle McCormack-Social Director, as well as other members, Ryan Doyle, Alison Burns, Sophie Burgess, Fiona Burgess, Rachael Fletcher, and Rachel Moloney-Mooyman took place, Absent were Lachlan Speck, Emily Stow. Jessica Skirrie, Bee Lauito, Karryn Collins, Sally Woodfine, Michael Sallai, Merine Perera, Jodie James, Celia Vah Sprang, and Ben Knight. The event was well supported by Rotarians, partners, parents and friends. President Jim Armstrong presented Allie with a photo album to keep their club photos and a bouquet of flowers. Presidenr Allie thanked the Rotary Club for all of their support in getting the club chartered. She then thanked all for attending and closed the meeting.
Re located Rotary Shed. 2003 Due to circumstances outside our control our beloved Rotary Shed had to be re-located.

ROTARY BIKE RIDE TO CONFERENCE RAISES $40,000 Riding to the Conference in Bairnsdale was certainally a novel way for some Rotarians and promoting awareness for Life Education and Australian Rotary Health Research was the icing on the cake. Rotarian Roy Knudson of the Rotary Club of Pakenham was delighted with the result and said that the ride was a superb effort and the riders were supported throughout by a great backup team and were enthusiastically welcomed in the towns they rode through along the way.
